Join us in welcoming Jim Anderson to the role of Plastics Manager at our Manufacturing & Central Distribution facility in Sparta, Tennessee!
Anderson fills the position previously held by long-time Plastics Manager Scott Coutre, who sadly passed away in July.
Anderson brings a wealth of plastic extrusion experience with him to the role, having worked in the industry since 1978 with a focus on film packaging. However, he said Rub Rail, which is a core specialty for TACO, is new to him.
"I love the opportunity to learn something different," said the father of four about Rub Rail. "It's a totally different process than what I've grown up with, so it's very, very exciting to me."
Although he's only been with TACO for a few weeks, Anderson said there are many positives that have stood out to him about the department and company, such as the tenure and experience of the plastics team and support he receives from management.
With the COVID-19 pandemic top of mind, Anderson said he was impressed with the health and safety precautions the TACO Team took during the interview process, as well as the protocols in place throughout all of the company's facilities.
Looking to the future, Anderson said he is committed to finding ways in which the department can improve, such as scheduling enhancements, housekeeping and evaluating overall processes to become more efficient. However, he emphasized that he is focused on learning and observing for the present.
"I got into plastics when I got right out of high school," said Anderson about his lengthy plastics career. "I liked plastics. It was fascinating to me and I was good at it.
"I am very happy to be here," he added. "I am happy with the opportunity and I am excited to see what we can do."
Welcome to the team, Jim!
