Easy Boat Shade from TACO Marine

Boats with Tops

For boats that do have hardtops or T-tops with rod holders, installing the ShadeFin boat shade is as easy as inserting either the Fixed or Adjustable Rod Holder Mount into one of the top’s rod holders. Either mount slides into place and is secured with the included Locking Knob on the bottom of the rod holder. Next, install the butt end of the ShadeFin into the top of the mount by aligning it with the guide notch and pushing in until the locking pin pops through the locking hole. Once complete, you can deploy the ShadeFin! 

If your boat does not have a hardtop or T-top, it is still possible to add boat shade with ShadeFin using one of our Clamp-On Mounts for pipe or tube or the Telescopic Rod Holder Accessory, which inserts securely into any standard gunnel rod holder. 

Boats without Tops

For boats with limited or no rod holders, the Fixed and Adjustable Clamp-On Pipe Mounts are great solutions for secure placement of ShadeFin. These mounts fits 3/4" or 1" schedule-40 pipe or 1-1/4" O.D. tube. 

If you’re using the Adjustable Clamp-On Mount, you can easily adjust the angle of ShadeFin using the soft-touch knob for hours of sun protection while on the water.

The Telescopic Rod Holder Accessory for ShadeFin is a versatile attachment option that inserts into standard gunnel rod holders for portable, adjustable boat shade. Made from high-quality, lightweight anodized aluminum, the Telescopic Rod Holder Accessory extends from 42" to 67" tall – elevating ShadeFin over the deck for boaters to comfortably stand underneath. For boaters at the dock, sandbar or in the water, the Telescopic Rod Holder Accessory can also be adjusted to position ShadeFin over the side of the boat – keeping you protected from the sun.
