The 35th Annual Swansboro Rotary Club Swansboro Five-O King Mackeral Tournament, was comprised of 50 teams – some of the most respected, and skilled fishermen around. Anticipation for this event has been building for months.
The Liquid Fire Fishing Team started off catching some bait on Wednesday and then pre-fished on Thursday. Heading out Friday morning to catch more bait, they never expected to catch the 51.82 King by 7:45 a.m. on Day 1. They also had one of their best tournament days in North Carolina, catching 14 fish throughout the day in an effort to upgrade their early morning catch.
There was still the possibility that their King could be beaten on Day-2, so they headed out Saturday morning, knowing they had to continue fishing hard to try and upgrade their fish to stay in first place. There are always bigger fish out there, so it was a long day of fishing not knowing if their fish would hold up against the other fishing teams. But by the end of the final day, Liquid Fire came away with first place and a check for $73,435 for their 51.82 lb. King! Taco Marine congratulates the Liquid Fire Fishing Team on their big win!
