Get to know TACO Seating Quality Supervisor and Manufacturing Engineer Scott Tucker.
From Wareham, Newfoundland, Canada to Largo, Florida, United States, TACO Seating Quality Supervisor and Manufacturing Engineer Scott Tucker traded his year-round winter gear for shorts and sunscreen eight years ago. It was during a chance encounter while visiting Tampa for work when he met the woman who would later become his wife – prompting him to stay in the sunshine state for good.
With years of mechanical engineering, maintenance, design and manufacturing experience, joining the TACO family in 2022 was a natural fit for Tucker, who immediately put his skills to good work at the company’s then-newly minted seating and upholstery facility.
“I oversee quality control of incoming and outgoing products, manage the maintenance of all the equipment on site, service the CNC equipment, handle all the warranty requests and supplement the engineering department as needed,” explained Tucker of his role at TACO.
Because of his hybrid Quality and Engineering role, Tucker said he has a unique perspective and understanding on the overall day-to-day operations of TACO Seating, which helps him to be more informed and efficient.
Every day, Tucker said he is devoted to problem solving – finding simple solutions that solve problems at the root cause and encourage self-correcting systems that are easily managed.
Looking to the future, Tucker said he has one goal that remains top of mind.
“Identifying ways in which TACO Seating as a whole can reduce errors and improve quality and efficiency,” he said.
When he’s not at TACO, Tucker is planning adventures, such as kayaking, caving, scuba diving, jumping off bridges or indulging his curious nature with electrical engineering projects.
Welcome to the team, Scott!
