TACO Sponsors Northeast Bluefin Showdown

Calling all New England anglers! Registration is now open for the Northeast Bluefin Showdown – a premier sport fishing tournament kicking off in beautiful Newburyport, Massachusetts. 

The annual event, now in its second year, awards prizes to competitors and fundraises for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund [DFCI-JF] for pediatric oncology in Boston.

In 2022, during the first-ever Northeast Bluefin Showdown, the tournament awarded $85,000 in prize monies and donated $26,000 to DFCI-JF.

This year, TACO is a proud sponsor – donating a pair of Grand Slam 280 Outrigger Mounts and Aluminum Tele-Outriggers to be used in the event's live auction, the money from which will go specifically toward DFCI-JF.

The Jimmy Fund, established in Boston in 1948, is comprised of community-based fundraising events and other programs that, solely and directly, benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's lifesaving mission to provide compassionate patient care and groundbreaking cancer research for children and adults, reads the foundation's website jimmyfund.org. "The generosity of millions of people in Boston and around the world has helped the Jimmy Fund save countless lives and reduce the burden of cancer for patients and families worldwide."

The 2023 Northeast Bluefin Showdown will take place on July 8 through 15 at the Merri-Mar Yacht Basin in historic Newburyport, with the Captain's Meeting taking place the evening of July 8.
