Visitors to the 2020 Progressive® Miami International Boat Show will see a familiar site at the show’s on-land entrance – the Reef Runner Boats Battle Breast Cancer Boat for charity!

The Battle Breast Cancer Boat is Reef Runner’s annual fundraiser for the Miami/Fort Lauderdale chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation – an organization dedicated to breast cancer research, education, and access to diagnostic services, screening and treatment. The area non-profit also works to financially assist women and men diagnosed with breast cancer who otherwise could not afford treatment.

Leading up to and during the Miami Boat Show, Reef Runner Boats is accepting $25 donations for a chance to win the Battle Breast Cancer Boat – a brand new 230 Open center console that is decked out from bow to stern with TACO.

As a proud sponsor of the Battle Breast Cancer Boat, which is a cause near and dear to TACO, the Miami-based marine company donated a host of new and popular products for the build.

The Battle Breast Cancer Boat features a TACO Neptune III Leaning Post with a backrest and grab rail, a pair of Grand Slam 390 Outrigger Mounts and 15’ Aluminum Tele-Outriggers, a Grand Slam 900, two Grand Slam 800 VHF Antenna Mounts, LED Navigation and Deck Lights, SuproFlex Rub Rail and a Come On Board Handle.

This year, Reef Runner Boats President Donna Milo said she hopes to raise $30,000 for Susan G. Komen Foundation – her biggest goal yet. For 2018 and 2019 combined, the company successfully fundraised $25,000 for the charity through its annual boat giveaway.

“As young breast cancer survivor who’s dedicated her career to the marine industry, I have a lot of gratitude for TACO, Reef Runner and the Miami Boat Show for supporting this cause,” said TACO Marketing Manager Dana Koman, who was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago. “I also appreciate that the money raised stays local to South Florida to help area women and men.”

This is the second year in a row TACO has sponsored the Reef Runner Boats Battle Breast Cancer Boat – having donated Rub Rail, LED Navigation Lights and Poly Tumblers in the past.

“When we started our Project Boat for charity, we had wonderful support from virtually everybody in the industry, and it opened our eyes to what an industry can do when everybody gets together and supports a cause collaboratively,” said TACO President Jon Kushner about why the company sponsors the Battle Breast Cancer Boat.

“Breast cancer is something that affects everybody,” Kushner added. “There’s not a person alive who hasn’t been touched by it. Supporting the Battle Breast Cancer Boat is all part of us being socially conscious, doing right, giving back and paying it forward.”

In addition to TACO, other sponsors for the Battle Breast Cancer Boat include Evinrude, KICKER Marine, Ocean Tamer, SeaDek, Seachoice, Edson Marine, Center Consoles Only, Castaway Customs and Uflex USA.

The 230 Open is 23-feet long, with a 97-inch beam and an 18-inch draft. It comes with an Evinrude 250 horsepower V6 E-TEC G2 outboard, a KICKER Marine Audio full sound system, an Edson Marine custom steering wheel, SeaDek molded non-ski marine flooring by Castaway Custom, and Ocean Tamer marine beanbags.

To donate for a chance to take home the 230 Open, visit reefrunnerboats.com or stop by the entrance to the Progressive® Miami International Boat Show Feb. 13 – 17. The boat drawing is slated for the final day of the show, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. EST.
