Materials List:

  • Marine Lumber Sheet 12 X 27 TACO Part # P10-5012WHA27-1

Tools:

  • Wax pencil
  • Table Saw or Circular Saw
  • 3-1/4" Hole Saw
  • Center punch
  • Drill
  • Router w/ " round over bit
  • Heat Gun

Step-By-Step

You will be able to make 3-cup holders out of this material.

  1. With your table saw or circular saw make three pieces 12 X 8
  2. Round the edges with a round over bit and router
  3. Using the template, center punch the center of the two 3-1/4 holes
  4. Cut out the two 3-1/4 holes with a hole saw
  5. Draw a bending reference line across the width of the cup holder with a wax pencil 4-1/4 from each end
  6. Clamp the cup holder face down on to a work bench with the bending reference line at the edge
  7. Using a heat gun, heat the bending area until the piece extending over the edge can be bent down 90 degrees. (Allow the Marine Lumber to cool before handling)
  8. Clamp the center section face down on to a piece of 2 X 4 with the other bending reference line at the edge
  9. Heat the bending area until the piece extending over the edge can be bent down 90 degrees. (Allow the Marine Lumber to cool before handling)
  10. Drill two holes through the middle section for mounting the cup holder
